The Challenge
In 2017, Quizlet approached our club with a retention issue with their users once they went to college. Their team wanted to know how to keep students using the application as they transition to college.
As a consultant, I was tasked with competitor analyses and finding ways to reenergize the Quizlet brand for a smooth integration into college students’ study habits

The Process
Survey Data
Conducted a survey to gauge brand’s awareness and how often students use it to study
Broad customer segment of solely college students
Focus Groups
Conducted with narrower segments based on majors
Asked open ended questions to understand how consumers study to assess how Quizlet can fit into their lifestyle
Analysis
Condensed insights from each major to understand how Quizlet can satisfy the pain points that students were facing so it can be a more relevant brand.
Recommendations
Our first set of recommendations were improvements to the platform itself
Our next set was catered to high school-college retention and college onboarding
The Results
Through our research & analysis we recommended that Quizlet reorganize their website to an online marketplace model.
We recommended a notes upload as well as a ranking system so that students would know which sets were reliable.
